**Currency Call Mid-Day Update (13 July 2021)**
During today’s Currency Call, Gim Hong highlighted the following points:
- The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will be announcing their monetary policy decision tomorrow at 1000 (GMT 8).
- Central bank is expected to hold interest rate unchanged and is probably going to hold back any potential QE tapering till the next meeting on 4 August.
- RBNZ likely going to highlight some optimism on the COVID situation in New Zealand and the progress made in the economic recovery.
Scott highlighted the following points:
- With the upcoming U.S. CPI data release later at 2030 (GMT 8), look for buying opportunities of the U.S. dollar index at 92.10 after the data release if it bounces off the support level of 92.064.
Daniel highlighted the following point:
- Look for buying opportunities of EUR/USD if it breaks above 1.19000. Look for selling opportunities of EUR/USD if it breaks below 1.18300.
- Look for selling opportunities of EUR/GBP if it breaks below 0.85400.
During the day, EUR/USD weakened while EUR/GBP strengthened slightly.
