Silver speculator contracts rose this week for a second consecutive week and rose a little further away from bearish territory. The Silver speculator positions had previously dropped into bearish territory on July 26th, a rare occurrence and the first time it has happened since June 4th of 2019 (a span of 164 weeks). Silver bets have seen a modest rebound over the past two weeks while the Silver futures price has risen in two out of the past three weeks. Silver is back above the $20 threshold after bouncing off the $18 level for a few weeks in July. #Silver# #preciousmetal#

large speculative New Zealand Dollar currency positions gained this week by over +6,000 net contracts. The NZD net positions have now increased for six consecutive weeks – adding a total of +37,842 contracts to the net position in that time. This improvement has taken the NZD spec contracts to the most bullish level in the past three hundred and twenty-three weeks, dating back to April 17th of 2018.

The Silver Comex Futures large speculator standing this week was a net position of 60,431 contracts in the data reported through Tuesday. This was a weekly reduction of -5,924 contracts from the previous week which had a total of 66,355 net contracts. This week’s current strength score (the trader positioning range over the past three years, measured from 0 to 100) shows the speculators are currently Bullish-Extreme with a score of 92.5 percent. The commercials are Bearish-Extreme with a score of 3.5 percent and the small traders (not shown in chart) are Bullish with a score of 76.1 percent.
