BREAKING - U.S. Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average Down 0.65%

U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.65%, while the S&P 500 index lost 0.55%, and the NASDAQ Composite index declined 0.27%.

The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were Boeing Co (NYSE:BA), which rose 3.21% or 6.50 points to trade at 208.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE:CRM) added 2.40% or 5.99 points to end at 255.88 and Merck & Company Inc (NYSE:MRK) was up 1.56% or 1.25 points to 81.43 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA), which fell 8.99% or 3.96 points to trade at 40.13 at the close. Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD) declined 2.64% or 7.39 points to end at 272.18 and American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) was down 2.44% or 2.89 points to 115.78.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Kohls Corp (NYSE:KSS) which rose 10.55% to 28.91, Capri Holdings Ltd (NYSE:CPRI) which was up 8.78% to settle at 32.78 and Macy’s Inc (NYSE:M) which gained 8.54% to close at 8.71.

The worst performers were Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA) which was down 8.99% to 40.13 in late trade, CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS) which lost 8.85% to settle at 66.97 and Boston Scientific Corp (NYSE:BSX) which was down 8.52% to 34.79 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Riot Blockchain Inc (NASDAQ:RIOT) which rose 47.80% to 6.060, Lexicon Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:LXRX) which was up 37.21% to settle at 1.77 and Miragen Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:MGEN) which gained 30.39% to close at 20.5500.

The worst performers were Brainstorm Cell Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:BCLI) which was down 66.16% to 4.04 in late trade, Westwater Resources Inc (NASDAQ:WWR) which lost 21.37% to settle at 4.930 and Goodrx Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:GDRX) which was down 20.95% to 36.93 at the close.
