China will strive to achieve its 2020 full-year economic and social development goals and tasks, Chinese President Xi told the Chinese state television on Thursday, as reported by Reuters.
"China should consolidate and expand results in coronavirus control and economic recovery to make up losses in the first half of the year," Xi added.
Market reaction
These comments don't seem to be having a significant impact on market sentiment. As of writing, major European equity indexes were losing between 1.75% and 2.55% and the S&P 500 futures were down 0.83% on the day.
